2 – How does the body get calories?
The body obtains calories through all that is consumed from different foods and drinks, and the amount of calories provided by each type of food to the body varies according to the type of food and the nutrients in it, according to the following:

- 4 calories are obtained from eating 1 gram of protein.
- 4 calories are obtained from eating 1 gram of carbohydrates.
- 4 calories are obtained by eating 1 gram of sugars.
- The negligible amount of calories in the micronutrients, that is, vitamins, minerals and minerals.
